Who Is The Strongest Superhero?

July 21, 2016 By Toby Isaacson Leave a Comment

Who is the Strongest Superhero Ever?

This question has been haunting us for a long time. And, to be honest, it will probably continue to do so. The reason for this is simple: there are no statistical ways to form an answer to this question, so everything is mostly opinion-based and highly subjective. We all know how well that goes down on the Internet. Who is the strongest superhero? Subjectively, plenty of people.

Who Is The Strongest Superhero?

But the most important aspect most of us seem to be eluding is that there is no way to properly analyze all of the known superheroes and consider it fair to compare them. When we ask “who is the strongest superhero,” this can refer to so many things. Which one is most likely to outlive them all? Who has the most impressive set of skills? Who has the biggest physical strength?

With all of these factors being taken into consideration, we’ve tried to line up a few possible contenders.

[tcb-script src=”https://app.involve.me/embed”][/tcb-script]

As a conclusion, it’s hard to determine one winner. Traditionally, Superman would be the best pick because he manages to balance really well the skills necessary to an indestructible hero. But his life would really be tough if he were to ever go on par with one of these other aforementioned characters.

How about we just make them all team up to defend us and call it a day?

Seven Best Super Powers Of Heroes

August 6, 2015 By Vernon Gadson Leave a Comment

Let’s face it. We all fall asleep thinking about that one super power we’d love to have. Whether it’s flying over skyscrapers, turning invisible, reading other people’s minds or getting microscopically small, there are as many superpowers as there are people. As to superheros, we already know everything there is to know about their superpowers. We have the comic books and the blockbuster movies to fuel our imagination engines and even categorize them into “cool” and “not so cool”. On that note, let’s take a look at seven best super powers of heroes we got to witness on screen. And then in our imaginations.

7. The Ant Man

Seven Best Super Powers Of Heroes

The Ant Man has the ability to shrink in size and increase in strength. As crazy as this sounds, it’s a pretty cool super power to have. It comes in handy when dealing with bad guys and enemies and you can also use it when the grocery shop has just closed and you really need a Twix.

6. Wolverine

Seven Best Super Powers Of Heroes

Despite recent movies, the Wolverine is a badass. He can heal himself and he has retractable blades. Don’t deny it, he’s the king of cool heroes. On top of everything, he has superhuman senses which places him high about others. We’d say Wolverine has got it pretty good, although in some movies we get the feeling he’s slowly drowning in self pity over being immortal.

5. Gambit from X-Men Origins

Seven Best Super Powers Of Heroes

Another cool ability is taking an inanimate object and converting it into hot kinetic energy. I can already see how this power can be used to kill bad guys by the dozens. On top of this, he also possesses a kinetic charm ability which enables him to coerce people and make them agree with whatever he wants.

4. Storm from X-Men: The Last Stand

Seven Best Super Powers Of Heroes

Who wouldn’t want to be able to manipulate the weather? Feeling too hot? Lift a finger and you’ve got yourself a nice refreshing shower. Too cold? Murmur some words and the Sun will come visit. You go, Storm!

3. Professor X

Seven Best Super Powers Of Heroes

He doesn’t even need a description, does he? I’m pretty sure even Wolverine is a bit jealous of him. And why wouldn’t he be? Professor X has incredible telepathic mutant abilities that we all crave, not only Marvel’s super heroes. Although he could once cover the entire world with his telepathic abilities, because of Magneto, Xavier’s power has been restricted to a radius of approximately four hundred kilometers. Which is still four hundred kilometers more than any other human can cover.

2. Nightcrawler from X2: X-men United

Seven Best Super Powers Of Heroes

He is incredibly agile, can teleport and has adhesive hands and feet. Thanks to his indigo skin, he can become nearly invisible in shadows, blending in the darkness. As a nice touch to his teleporting ability is his “space awareness ability”. This translates into the fact that he’ll never teleport into a solid object. Did we mention his tail? Not only is it strong enough to pick up a man from the ground, it can also wield a sword and serve as a third hand for Nightcrawler.

1. The Man of Steel

Seven Best Super Powers Of Heroes

He’s not called Superman for nothing. He can do so many things at once and still have an impeccable coiffure at all times. Share the tips and tricks, Man of Steel! All joking aside, let’s make a quick recap of what Superman can do. He can fly, which means his girlfriend can get croissants for breakfast on the Seine, go back home for lunch and make-up touch ups and then go for paella in Barcelona. Superman is also invulnerable (but he can totally talk openly about his feelings), he is freakishly strong and can emit solar energy from his eyes. I rest my case.

Top Five Movie Prequels

August 10, 2011 By Vernon Gadson Leave a Comment

The word “prequel” does not exactly inspire happy thoughts; the world of movies has suffered enough from backstory explanations taking away from the tantalising mysteries that cinematic stories have previously held. They can ruin narratives, wreck deliberate ambiguity and are, for the most part, shoddy and pointless. You only have to look at the drab and boring second “Star Wars” trilogy or the excruciating “Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd” to see that prequels can majorly suck anus when handled badly (as they usually are). But when handled with care and attention, they can enlighten a story and give it more weight and meaning, shining a light on the unknown pasts of major plotlines and characters.

Last Friday (August 5) saw Rupert Wyatt’s sci-fi “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” hitting US cinemas, the film serving as an explanation of how the apes, well, rose and sparked “Planet of the Apes” (1968). The film has received quite a bit of critical acclaim, evidently one of the few prequels that have been managed with that care and attention. To mark this, I’ve taken a look at the top five prequels that successfully expand upon the stories of their predecessor(s), instead of inhaling the contents of their forerunners’ bowels. The Evolution of the Superhero Movie

June 30, 2011 By Vernon Gadson 3 Comments

We are currently living in the age of the superhero movie, a financially-friendly genre that is at present flying its way around cinema screens on what is noticeably becoming a regular basis. With the earth-shattering advances in special effects over the past couple of decades, it’s becoming increasingly easy for super-powered vigilantes to make the transition from the pages of a comic book to being projected on the silver screen, which has resulted in a recent explosion of cinematic offerings from the superhero genre. Just this year we’ve already feasted on Kenneth Branagh’s “Thor” and Matthew Vaughn’s “X-Men: First Class,” and last Friday (June 17) we were presented with Martin Campbell’s “Green Lantern,” which shall be followed by Joe Johnston’s “Captain America: The First Avenger,” released July 22 in the US. It seems you can’t look at your local cinema listings without seeing someone in a cape or a mask or with their skin a funny colour (no racism intended). But what is the history of this genre? Where did it all begin? When did it really become popular? And what is with our current fascination with crime-fighters who have awesome, otherworldly powers?
