These amazing embryonic animal photographs of dolphins, sharks, dogs, penguins, cats and elephants are from a new National Geographic Documentary called “Extraordinary Animals in the Womb”. The show’s producer, Peter Chinn, used a combination of three-dimensional ultrasound scans, computer graphics and tiny cameras to capture the process from conception to birth. They are the most detailed embryonic animal pictures ever seen.
If you would like to see more baby animal photos, you should take a look at these frozen semen test tube pandas.
THANKS FOR SHARING THIS PICTURE.
awww!!
Just thought I should take a second and say howdy to everyone today. Looking forward to your forum and what all the memebers has to talk about.
wat was she sleeping with
This is just to cute…all the animals shown on here are so adorable, I had no clue that u could see what was in the animals womb. The dolphin and the elephant were just so cute!!!! I would so go get one but I wouldn’t be able to take care of a wild animal 🙁
That is breath taking!!!!
Egg = portable womb.
Looks photoshopped to me. Animals aren’t that cute and hairy before they are born. The elephant looks way too developed too.
Showing moving images never seen a dolphin in this way, the photos are fine,
Greetings ..
“The show’s producer, Peter Chinn, used a combination of three-dimensional ultrasound scans, computer graphics and tiny cameras to capture the process from conception to birth.”
The images are real, but they have probably been enhanced (most likely color-wise).
Sharks and Dolphins do exist in the womb and are delivered. But I would say these are not all actual pictures since like the elephant is an awfully high up picture to be in the womb.
So fake and unrealistic that I was on the verge of laughing at seeing these . . . anyone with any REMOTE knowledge of nature and technology know how utterly ridiculous these images are . . .
Wow… Some peoples children…
Why must everything have a fault somewhere or become a political contreversy?? Can we not just appreciate a piece of art??? Cuz that’s what this is- art! It is photography… Which is….? Art! Come on people! Art is to be appreciated! Who cares if it’s real or not! Just appreciate the goddam pictures and get over yourselves!
I apologize to those of you whom this comment doesn’t apply too (the rational people)…
wow, amazing. this is very facinating, thnx for sharring. 🙂
I really have to admit it’s quite refreshing to check out a somewhat original blog such as this one, excellent work. I look forward to dropping by again soon.
Those wombs look super roomy.
These are UNREAL! 😀
And the Fetal Puppy, Elephant, Dolphin and Shark are all adorable. ^^
… Yeah, I think the shark is cute in a really weird way. Look at those weirdly huge-ass eyes and pseudo-teeth! I want a plushie of it.
Still not young enough for me…
Those are beautiful but keep in mind he’s using a lot of 3-D animation to fill in the visual gaps. Think of it as an elaborate painting used in combination with ultrasound.
Would be cooler if these were not being proposed as though they were real photos. It says right in the description that computer graphics were used. This is kindof just someones art inspired by actual events. Think Anne Geddes… but not as creepy.
I dont care if these are real or not. They’re amazing,
it made my day in fact. so all you low lives trying to put
a downer on a beautiful thing get the hell out of here.
this is kinda cool.
i think that whoever did this has to be a scientist
Magnificent site. A lot of helpful information here. I’m sending it to several pals ans additionally sharing in delicious. And of course, thanks in your effort!
Here we go people ………………
It was an extraordinary picture of an unborn baby elephant from inside its mother’s womb, making front page news in London and around the world. Except it wasn’t real – it was a model.
The image of the 20-month-old elephant foetus, along with pictures of an unborn dolphin and golden retriever, will feature in a Channel 4 documentary due to be broadcast over the Christmas period.
But what both the newspaper reports and Channel 4, in its original press release, omitted to mention was that the image of the elephant was a silicone model.
The models were created using ultrasound scans and computer graphics and were made by special effects company Artem, whose other credits include the BBC’s digital monkey campaign and Terry Gilliam movie, The Brothers Grimm.
The models were sculpted in clay and modelling wax and moulded in silicone. The whole production process took several months.
A Channel 4 spokesman said the press release “made it perfectly clear” that the image was not the real thing. In a note which accompanied the pictures from the channel’s picture editor, it said the images were created “using the information gathered from 4D scans and the knowledge of expert ultrasonographers. All these images here are computer-generated except foetus 005 – this is a model created by Artem and photographed by Dr David Barlow”.
And yes this part is true … I have watch a show that showed the making of the silicone models. The pictures are still beautiful and amazing none the less and alot of research and work was done to make the models realistic
While these photos are amazing, the one about the “Penguin”gives a TOTALLY wrong impression.Your story says “Life in the womb” the penguin is in an egg and not in the womb. After reading the brief story in my local paper today I was somewhat perplexed that a penguin was included with the caption “A penguin curls up in it’s mothers womb”.Upon looking this fact up I could not find any answer that supported this, all stated that penguins are “hatched” from an egg, not born from the womb.If the story is correct, I would love to know which penguins actually have wombs and deliver their offspring the same as mammals?
Beautiful
