This set of illustrations and t-shirt designs is made by young and talented designer Reece Ward from United Kingdom. If you are wearing a shit bought on line there is a big chance Reece designed it so we asked him couple questions for TBR readers.

I’m Reece Ward . The self confessed geeky t-shirt designer. I live in the UK, in the deepest darkest depths of Lancashire. A place called Accrington. I think it’s twinned with Hollywood, but don’t quote me on that. It is where I live, work and breath, as a poor graphic designer. Working my fingers to the bone, to earn an honest bob or two.

Ever since I was young I’ve wanted to be a famous artist. To follow in the footsteps of Warhol, Blake, Pollock and Dali. I could have been somebody. I could have been a contender.

In my summer holidays I worked as a fine art restorer, painting the cracked backgrounds from old paintings bought at auction for just £5 a week. My boss said I was gaining more in knowledge, which was true, but I would have still preferred the cash. I’ve also worked in a greeting card factory. And a swinging pub sign company.

I studied Art and Design at college. And later diversified and studied Graphic Design at University. At that time everyone (Doctors, Astronauts, Brain surgeons, Zoo keepers, Politicians) all wanted to be a Graphic Designer, with the promise of wealth, and riches at the end.

Of course graphic design and advertising suffered the same dilution of all the media industries. By the time I entered in to the real world. Graphic Design was no longer the path to righteousness and success, but just another daily grind. It had totally lost it’s allure.

I started to design t-shirts in my spare time. I can’t remember when I first started or why! It must be 3 or 4 years ago now, but I can really recommend it especially if your not getting the appreciation at work you feel you deserve. You will find it here and throughout the web community. A few of my t-shirts became famous in there own right. And they seemed to spread around the internet like wild fire. Before I knew it, I was getting request and orders from all over the world.

But just before Christmas I was contacted by Lucasfilm Ltd. They contacted me, and said they where fans of my work, and would I like to design a couple of tees. And of course, without a moments hesitation, I said yes! I think I would have said Yes! If they had asked me to sell my sole! I woke up next morning with an email from ‘Lucasfilm Ltd.’ saying that my t-shirts where now available to buy online at the Star Wars shop. Since Christmas I’ve been slaving away designing a series of t-shirts for the Star Wars online shop.

T-Shirt on Star Wars shop.

T-Shirt on Star Wars shop.

My advice to any young designer out there, is work hard. Never stop! Believe in yourself. And one day all your hard work will reap it’s rewards.

Thank you Reece, and keep us updated.

This set of illustrations and t-shirt designs is made by young and talented designer Reece Ward from United Kingdom.
