Assuming that you haven’t been living under a rock for the past 10 years, you probably know who Quentin Tarantino is. Some say he is the best movie director of all-times, and while we would not say something so grand, because there are many brilliant directors, we do enjoy his unique style, memorable lines, incredible action scenes and great characters. His career started in january 1992, with the release of Reservoir Dogs, a movie that was acclaimed and adored by numerous critiques and viewers. After this Tarantino’s career soared: in 1994, Pulp Fiction, premiered at Cannes, and won the coveted Palme D’Or Award. But which one of Tarantino’s films is the best? The topic is debatable, because every individual has his own favorites. We have nonetheless tried to create a good list, for what we believe are Quinten Tarantino’s best movie. (And yes, we love western films).

1. Inglorious Basterds

In a Nazi-ruled France, a young Jewish refugee by the name of Shosanna Dreyfus witnesses the murder of her family, by a colonel. She barely escapes with her life, and after that she plots revenge. After a few years have past, she manages to charm a war hero, Fredrick Zoller. She is also runs a theater which catches the attention of the “Basterds” do to an illustrious movie premiere. The meeting the Basters and Shosanna will shake the annals of history.

Inglorious Basterds has a wonderful spaghetti western vibe, interesting monologues, brilliant performances and Brad Pitt, of course. The musicals are also very entertaining. All in all, the film is audacious and hilarious, and even people who are not Tarantino fans will love it.

2. Pulp Fiction

Pulp Fiction is one of those movies that marks you for life. It is not only brilliant, but it was also released in a moment in history when all action films ended with a chase sequence and a “the day was saved” theme. On the other hand, Pulp has you gripped till the final credits appear There is literally no wasted line of dialogue, and you probably have to watch it several times in order to understand the complexities that it incorporates. Pulp Fiction will never be beaten.

3. Django Unchained

Django Unchained was released in 2012, it has been very well received, and it is probably Tarantino’s greatest homage to spaghetti western movies. The movie is bloody and bold, and it includes some of the best cameos appearances from classic character actors. We simply have to mention Dr. King Schulz (played by Cristoph Waltz) who was absolutely fantastic. We would dare say that he slightly out-shinned Django’s performance (but only by a bit). Also, let’s not forget about Leonardo Di Caprio, who played an excellent Calvin Candie. A definite must watch, even if you aren’t into western movies.

""

4. True Romance

It may be old, but it still holds a special place for many cinema-violence craving hearts. Granted, it was not directed by Quentin Tarantino, but it was his first screenplay, and an excellent one at that. The story is about a book store clerk who marries a prostitute, then murders her pimp. In the mean-time he also takes a suitcase full of cocaine stolen from the mafia. The cast is excellent, the scenes breath-taking and the lines genius. Another most (re)see.

5. Kill Bill Vol. 1

Kill Bill was initially filmed as one 4 hour movie, but he decided to break it down into two volumes. Although volume two is also good, volume one is better because it sets the scene for the epic revenge. Kill Bill is the ultimate homage to martial arts 70’s films. The fighting scene is probably the best one ever created.

Memorable Quote:
