The Kings Of Internet Trolling

August 3, 2015 By Theresa Carrion Leave a Comment

The internet has become a place to make fun of other people, show everybody else how you’re right and they’re wrong and make memes out of everything. I think I’ve got the gist of it, right? Of course, some are better at pointing and laughing, while others prefer the subtler, longer, more elaborate ways to making jokes. We’ll call the latter the kings of internet trolling in an endeavor to make a top five of the funniest (though not safest) ways of joking. Keep reading about these devil minds and what they were capable to do for a few laughs.

5. Wiki tinkering

The Kings Of Internet Trolling

I’m pretty sure you’re familiar with Wikipedia and its vast knowledge of… everything. Since it can be edited by anyone, not everything on there is 100% reliable. But the quotes and summary for the “Saved by the bell” page transcend any human error into pure evil. The American 90s sitcom revolved around several friends and was a light comedy that occasionally tackled more serious issues. But nothing was so serious as this alleged quote from its Wiki page: “We are just insects… There’s no mercy in things. There’s not even a Great Beyond”. Yes, this troll had the brilliant idea to tinker with the some quotes. And they didn’t stop there. Some episode plots were entirely reinvented in a mishmash of crazy dark things.

4. Supreme Court Impersonator Makes Waves on Twitter

The Kings Of Internet Trolling

People are braver on the internet. Under the thick cloak of anonymity, we’re all Hulks, Tyrannosaurus or the Great Others. Out in the real life, though, we shrink back to the true size. Twitter has become a place where everyone can blurt out things, add a bunch of hashtags, and then apologize saying it was all just a joke. But one particular troll took it to a whole new level. When a random blogger was mistaken for the Supreme Court on Twitter he just rolled with it. Hard! The people behind @SCOTUSblog started replying to angry tweets with equally witty and on point remarks. Our favorite? “Careful, you know we administer the death penalty, right?”

3. Tinder, tinder little app, how I wonder… what gender you are

The Kings Of Internet Trolling

A Californian hacker came up with a stunt to pull on male Tinder users. He created two fake profiles of girls and each time a man wanted to chat with one of the fake girls, he would be matched with another guy. I can only imagine he grabbed some popcorn, laid back and enjoyed the show. Most of the guys didn’t stop to think again about the misleading hints, which goes to show everyone’s just looking for a fast hookup.

2. Tumbling Out of Space

The Kings Of Internet Trolling

Tumblr’s recently implemented copyright system allows creators to request their work be taken down is someone has stolen it. From here on, a staff member reviews your request and applies their seal of approval. Invariably, we might add. Darryl Anka thought Tumblr can’t possibly review all the requests they get, so he decided to find out if the staff over there really does their job. This “trollemy” of Tumblr claimed he was submitting requests encouraged by his alien friends from the future. Slow clap. We can only hope Mr. Anka is writing these claims from his living room and not a soft walled bedroom.

1. The most expensive shoot out

The Kings Of Internet Trolling

This video game has some very inventive users. Which translates into gamers being able to do whatever they please. Including shooting money at each other. This is hilarious with a sprinkle of genius because GTA bans players who make too much money quickly. So the attackers armed with money bullets can have a good laugh while chasing down players who are fleeing so as not to get too rich too fast. Therefore, we hereby crown the Kings of Internet Trolling and wish them a prosperous reign.

Text from Dog: What if Your Dog Could Text You?

July 9, 2012 By Vernon Gadson 1 Comment

If, like me, you own a dog and you care for your dog and you feed it and you play with it and you clean up its poop, then you may have at one point or another wondered what it would be like if your dog could talk. Admittedly, most dogs’ talking points would simply be, “feed me,” “lemme out” and “pick up my poop,” but what if your dog could speak of something other than their baser urges, like Brian from Family Guy?

A hilarious and imaginative tumblr account called Text from Dog imagines such a thing, and takes it one step further: what if your dog had a cell phone and could text you? The blog, created three months ago, posts the conversations between a dog and its owner (October Jones), as captured by the owner’s iPhone. The name of the mischievous mutt featured in the blog has no known name (although it appears to have opposable thumbs), but the owner’s twitter account shows that it is a bulldog.

Below are some of their hysterical SMS conversations (warning: there’s some swearing), as captured and posted by Mr Jones. Enjoy, laugh and thank the heavens above that your dog can’t text you. [Read more…]
