The movie Insurgent was released on March 19 and was directed by Robert Schwentke. To celebrate the launch of the movie Insurgent starring Shailene Woodley, Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort and Theo James among others, we made a list of interesting facts about the movie.

1. Ansel Elgort runs weird
Probably one of the first things that you will notice about the movie is that Ansel Elgort runs really weird. According to him, however, this was totally on purpose and he said that Theo and Shailene are superheroes but Caleb isn’t. He said that Caleb is the guy who isn’t very physical and symbolizes the intelligent side. The actor is very glad that people point out just how weird his running is because it means he made a good decision in playing this way.
2. There is a new character in the movie
Edgar, who is played by Johnny Weston is a new character in the movie. Edgar was not present in the book. Some people believed that the character would be Tris’ new love interest. However, it was clarified by Veronica Roth that this isn’t the case.
3. Kate Winslet never starred in a sequel
Insurgent is the first sequel done by Kate Winslet. This comes as a surprise, seeing how Winslet played in over 45 films.
4. Bradley Cooper’s girlfriend plays a part in the movie
Suki Waterhouse, a British supermodel and Bradley Cooper’s girlfriend plays the part of Marlene in Insurgent. This is the fifth movie in which Waterhouse acted and it’s the biggest one of them all.
5. The director from Divergent couldn’t be used for the movie because he was still working on the first one
Neil Burger, the director of the first movie wasn’t available for Insurgent because he was still busy directing Divergent when they began to shoot the second one. Robert Schwentke, the director of Red and R.I.P.D. replaced Burger for the movie.
6. Many actors had other jobs during the shooting
Numerous actors in the movie were also working on other ones when shooting Insurgent. Jai Courtney was also shooting for Terminator Genisys, Miles Teller for Fantastic Four and Kate Winslet was also busy filming Triple 9.
7. Shailene is getting used to working around Ansel and Miles
Woodley worked together with Ansel Elgort and Miles Teller on other movies before Insurgent. Teller and Shailene worked together on The Spectacular Now and she also worked with Elgort in both Divergent and The Fault in Our Stars.
8. Woodley refused to put on a wig
The leading actress in Insurgent, Shailene Woodley refused to put on a wig when filming for the movie after she cut her hair for her role in The Fault in Our Stars.
9. Divergent was longer than Insurgent
Even though the Divergent book was 38 pages shorter than Insurgent, the Divergent movie is about 20 minutes longer than Insurgent. This is bad news for those who really loved the movie and wanted it to never end.
10. The movie had a fake title while it was in production
In an effort to keep the movie a secret and prevent any spoilers or other details about it from leaking out to the public, the people responsible for the movie used the name Mineral instead of Insurgent while the movie was still in production.
