In horrible times of wars, you probably wonder what keeps soldiers from going crazy. Letters and calls from loved ones, you might say, right? But you know something that’s really effective? Little furry, cutesy-wutesy pets. They say that dogs make you live a happier and longer life, while cats keep your blood pressure down.
I think that is exactly what soldiers need after being in a battle field for the whole day. Pets are fun and loving. They make the time pass in happiness; they make you forget about the problems you have. They are little miracle workers. Here is a selection of photos in which soldiers are either playing or petting a furry friend. It’s a contrast between brutality and softness. It’s great to see the bonding between soldiers and pets; it’s like they’re taking good care of each other. Speaking of pets, meet Buffalo Bailey Jr., the largest pet ever.

In the last picture, the soldier seems to stick a pen in a cats eye. or?!

It’s a medicine dropper, or even a milk dropper. Te kitten must have needed help.

He is feeding the kitten (a pre-wean), likely 2 weeks old from looking at the kitten’s ears. Probably found out in the field somewhere. It’s a dropper, and it is being fed in its mouth, not its eye! He’s helping this little creature – could be the mother was killed, or frightened off by gunfire, who knows? I love the direct focus being given the kitten by the soldier, as if it is the most important thing in the world. Beautiful photo.
